Christmas Lantern

Here is a lantern I've made  using a template at Peppercus Designs, along with the digital stamp of the owl
I've designed it for the Fairytale Challenge blog. The lantern is quite large actually and a great piece to put together. I've used Garden Green card stock, and the paper is from the woodland walk I had fun putting this together. Go and check out what the other ladies have done for our Pimp it up challenge. The notebook was another project I made using the same owl, but this time he's sitting on a branch with some stockings. I will use it for all my Christmas lists that I have: Shows, Orders, Gifts etc.

Christmas Decoration

Hi Oh Christmas Tree is the challenge for this time around at Fairy Tale Challenges. The idea is to make either a decoration for the tree or for your wall. I've gone with a simple version of the Stampin Up ornament this time. I stamped and  cut out the ornaments with the framelits then put together, and used the snowflurry die for the center along with a button and pearl. The first one is using Marina Mist and the second on is using Not Quite Navy, the snowflakes are made with the glimmer paper in silver, as well as a blue glimmer paper I found, and the marina mist paper.

Metallic Challenge

Over at Holly Jolly this week we have a new challenge for you and that is to show off the metallic colors on your Christmas cards. So whether it be gold, silver, pewter, copper, whatever you wish. For my card I've used brushed gold card stock along with gold embossing powder, and champagne glass glitter too, so lots of the metallic things happening on my card. I've also used Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. The stamp set is Come to Bethlehem and the music notes wheel is the background along with the sentiment stamp from Come to Bethlehem For the ribbon and bow I've used the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, and to finish off the card, is a basic rhinestone on the star.

Tag Your It

Over at Come and Get It this week we have a challenge that involves tags, you are to make a tag or make some with a tag. Great time to get the tags done for your gifts. Thanks to Shell for our challenge.
For my card I used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder on the Soft Suede for the background. The tag itself is one of those large postal tags, I used the music wheel with versamark on it first and embossed it with gold embossing powder, then I used distress inks to color it, doing an emboss resist technique. I then stamped on the Noel greeting from the Greetings of the Season stamp set, then I used the framelit dies to cut out a couple of ornaments, and used bakers twine for the bows and the string on them. The branches at the top were done with a MS punch. The final thing I made was a bow using the scalloped tulle ribbon in Cherry Cobbler, and adhered it to the bow.

Blue Christmas for Come and Get It

Over at Come and Get It this week we have a color challenge for you, the colors are midnight muse, bashful blue and whisper white. I've chosen to do my card using the Christmas Lodge set, along with the Petite Pairs for the greeting. I have all sorts of layers. the first of course is the whisper white, followed by midnight muse, then I have a layer of bashful blue, yeah it looks darker, but that is because I used the versa mark ink and then the irredescent ice embossing powder over top after I had embossed it with the Snow Flurry Embossing folder. I then cut out two ovals one in white one in midnight muse slightly larger, and on the whisper white, I used a bit of sponging with the bashful blue, hard to see in the pic, but it's there, I stamped the Christmas Lodge onto whisper white, then cut it out, and put on dimensionals after I glittered all the snow. the sentiment is stamped on the white layer, then I added a bow using the midnight muse ribbon, and some snowflakes from my stash and to finish it all off I added some silver glimmer paper on the edges, cut out with the edgelit die. It really looks pretty in person, as it is very sparkly

Sketch for Come and Get It

wa

This is my card for the Come and Get it Challenge this week which we have a sketch I decided that I liked the idea of the sketch and decided to use some new paper I picked up when visiting in Iowa in October. I also used some foam embellished snowflakes that are all glittery. The tags are punched with one retired punch and one current punch. The ribbon is  the pool party seam binding ribbon, which I just love. the borders were punched from white glitter paper using an old snowflake punch I have. Thanks for looking, have a great weekend, I'm away visiting friends and family, but will be back in time for my post at Holly Jolly. Oh some news too. I've been asked to be guest designer at the fairy tale challenge blog. Go check it out and check it out on Friday for the my first post

This week at Come and Get It were asking to see swirls or flourishes on your creations. I brought out my new stamp set called Flowering Flourishes, as well as the Papillion Potpourri set, and also for the sentiment I used Teeny Tiny Wishes. For the color combo I went to the Color Coach, which under River Rock the sweet set combo is River Rock, Not Quite Navy and Tangerine Tango. I used the boho blossom punch and the papillion punch for the larger butterfly and flowers. I've added some pearls to finish off the card. The butterflies were stamped with stazon and water colored with Tangerine Tango and Not Quite Navy inks the bodies are done with River Rock. Thanks for looking. 3-2-1 Challenge for Holly Jolly

For Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge this week we are sponsored, and I have used the Sponsor's image to make my card. I'm still trying to use up some of the older supplies I have on hand, so used some paper from last year at Christmas. It's great paper, and you can get it digitally if you really like it. The challenge was 3 embellishments, which I used brads, 2 designer papers, and one image, greeting is ok too. So this is what I came up with very simple but still pretty.

For this week at Holly Jolly our hostess Judy has asked for Christmas Trees to be the focal Image. so I've used the tree from the Scentsational season. The designer paper is retired Holly Jolly Holiday I believe or something like that, but you could use anything that has polkadots to replicate it, in fact the polkadot parade paper, or the regular prints from Stampin' Up has polka dots that you could use, I just used some other small bits of scraps for the banners, and the button is from the Regal Collection of Button's Thanks for looking

Hi Everyone, It's Sketch time at Come and Get It Challenges. Shell has given us the sketch this time around and I've decided to use the Christmas Lodge set for my card, and I've also used the Brushed Gold, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler card stock. The lodge was stamped with stazon ink and then the snow was colored using my gel pen. The brushed gold was embossed using the argyle embossing folder. The Paper is the retired Mocha Morning. The little bow is a fork bow made with the 3/8 inch early espresso taffeta ribbon, which is also retired, but I guess I could have used the crumb cake one, but need to get rid of the retired stuff. It's Begining to look like Xmas

For the Friday Mashup this week your supposed to make a Christmas Project with some sparkle.
For mine this is my version of the ornament on the front cover of the Stampin Up Holiday Mini Catalogue. I've used Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler, didn't add the linen thread. and the tulle is from stash, which is a vanilla color. I love the way it turned out. I'm here in Iowa this week and Julie and I each made one of them. Great fun. The second picture is of Julie beside her ornament. I've had a great time here in Iowa, and will be heading home tomorrow afternoon.

Glitter and Bling

For Holly Jolly this week Paige is the host, and she has chosen for us to use glitter and bling on our projects. Anyone who knows me knows I don't use much of either on any of my cards, so it was a challenge, but I think I pulled it off. I've used the glitter paper from Stampin' Up for the glitter and some rhinestones for the bling. The paper is from the new Festive Designer Series pack. Great deal on this one. The rosette was made using the first edition newsprint designer paper. and the snowflake was made using the retired snow flurries die. I also used the retired Four the Holidays stamp set for the greeting. Thanks for looking

Sketch time at Come and Get It

It's my turn to host the challenge this week over at Come and Get It and I've drawn up this sketch, wanting to feature some of the wonderful Sentiments that we have around. I know that this one is retired, but I just love it, so decided to use it along with the retired ruffled ribbon in baja breeze, which goes well with the comfort cafe designer paper. Ok this is the first time I've actually cut from a full sheet of dsp in I don't know how long, been so good about trying to use up all those scraps of paper. So I feel good about using a new sheet this time. Anyway enough of my rambling. Hope you have a great Sunday and come play along with us.

Christmas Tag

For this weeks challenge at Holly Jolly, Judy has challenged us to make Christmas Tags. I'm not one to make a lot of tags, as Christmas is usually a quiet holiday for us, so no need for a lot of them, so never got in the habit of making them, so I guess I will have to start, as I really enjoyed making this one.
