A New Home

A customer of mine, who had just purchased the two lion cards in the previous post for her sister's birthday, a leo who is also a real estate agent, asked me if I could come up with a card for a client who just bought their first home. So this is the card I came up with for her.

A is for Animal

A is for Animal, and these were inspired by wanting to do some cards for the animal lovers, of all kinds. With my job I have a few minutes here and there and decided to take some embroidery with me. So I started of working on these guys, there a set of three safari animals. I had done two elephants the same and started working on a bit of a two by two thing.
I've also done a few other ones, but have finished them by putting in the backing or putting them on some other backing like the second lion one. As I finish them I'll put up pictures.

A is for ATC

ATC's are Artist Trading Cards, which are 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches, they are made like postcards and on the back of them it is written the artists name, the name of the atc, the number of them in a set, as well as the group in which you trade them. They are fun things to do, but I've not done a lot of them.
These are both embossed atc's for a swap I'm in at Just Cards. The first one is dry embossing with is a technique done using a stylus and embossing on the back to make a raised image, or in the case of this one I used a cuttlebug machine, any die cut machine will do the same thing. I used the script folder for the background cut out the stamp then used the love embossing folder to emboss the stamp.
The second of the atc's is heat embossed. So the image was stamped in black then added Black embossing powder and heat set it. Then stamped the saying and used gold embossing powder and heat set it.
Anyway that's about it.

Happy Chinese New Year

For one of the groups I'm in were doing a swap for the chinese new year, the requirements were it had to have Happy New Year, Chinese theme of course. Anyway here is what I've come up with. I turned out better than I thought in the beginning. I just love the red and black together and adding the touch of gold just sets it off I think, what do you think?

I've been given a few awards.

Hi Everyone, I've been given a few awards and I'm honored that two of my blogging buddies and friends have given me such awards. It means alot to me that they like my work and my blog. Thanks Julie and Barb, I really appreciate it.
Now onto what I have to do that is list 5 things I can't live without.
1 My husband, who is truely my best friend and partner in life.
2. Friends, they are without a doubt a treasure to have and you can never have enough of them.
3 My 5 feathered friends, Bandit, Lee Lee, Georgie Girl, Houdini, and Hercules, they give me such joy in life.
4. My cardmaking supplies. I could live without the rest of my crafting things but not these as this is my true passion.
5. Music, which makes the world go around. I love to have it on when I'm cooking, cleaning crafting and even at work.
I'm also to nominate a few people that I know for these awards as well.
First I'd like to nominate Von, a friend from England, who has been a great help in teaching me the art of stamping.
Second I'd like to nominate Nicky, she is the first person that I took a stamping class from and is one classy lady.
Third I'd like to nominate Sonya, she's a friend that hasn't been doing much crafting lately, but still inspires me when she does.
Forth I'd like to nominate Emily, I've been keeping up with her blog for about a year now, and she does some nice things and also has some great tutorials.
Last but definitely not least I'd like to nominate Emma another one of my friends from England who's in a group that I belong to.

Monagrammed Note Cards

Hi Everyone, well this hasn't got to do with the alphabet thing that Von and I are doing on our blog, but I wanted to show you the monogrammed cards that I did that are part of whats going into the altered tin that I showed previously. I am adding some regular cards like birthday, anniversary, get well and thank you cards as well, but wanted to add some note cards too. So these were quick and easy simple ones that I've done.
The first set are stamped on the bottom with a border, adding a paper above and then the monogram, the second set are just using embossing folders from cuttlebug borders and then adding the Monogram.

A is for Altered Art ( Cookie Tin)

A friend of mine Von, check out her blog http://messyme-von.blogspot.com/ and I are working our way through the alphabet coming up with things that we can do for each letter, Now we may stay on one letter for a while as there are a number of things that start with some of the letters. So for the letter A the first thing I've come up with is an Altered Cookie tin, which I have a picture of a friend of mine on it along with some things that are for friendship. I'm going to give her this tin and fill it with handmade cards, I've not done the cards yet for it, but I have some time since I figure it will be her birthday present and it's not until June.
