Anniversary

This is a card I made the other day for my husband for our 11th wedding anniversary, which we celebrated yesterday.  The champagne glasses from the stamp set Embellished Events,  were stamped then cut out and popped up on dimensions, I used the apothecary accents and cut them out and then paper pierced around the label and on the inside of it, added some gems and the sentiment from teeny tiny wishes, and the card is complete.

Babies is the Theme

Cindy

Babies are the theme this week at Come and Get It, who can resist them, and it is always a pleasure to give a card to a new mom, so they can put it in the new scrapbook for the baby, or just hang on to show them when they are older. I am always being asked to make new ones for people I know to give to others, so I am asking to show us your baby cards. I decided to do a non generic one for my card, as I know most of the time now a days people do know what they are having in advance,  but every now and then you get a couple who have decided they don't want to know and want to be surprised, so this is for them. I have chosen for the image and sentiment on my card are  from the Embellished Events set from Stampin Up. I have also used the 2.5 inch scalloped circle punch and the large delicate doilies die to make the white piece. The image was stamped twice and I cut out the duck the second time to put up on dimensions. The ribbon and background paper are both retired, then the button is from the subtles collection and I used a small piece of baker's twine for the bow. Thanks for looking

Hi Everyone, It is my honor to receive a great honor from a friend and co challenge design team member Judy - In Search of My Creative Side. She is a lovely person, always does inspiring work and a great team player. Thanks for the award Judy, I really appreciate it.
I'm to pay it forward to some friends of mine, or other people that inspire me to keep creating, I will give them to the following in no particular order.

My dear friend who I was able to meet for the first time this year, It was with her that Come and Get It and Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges were born. We had been doing challenges for a long time and thought it through and started our own Come and Get It. It was born in April  almost 2 years ago now. Then this past April, wow, almost a year ago we decided to start the Christmas Challenge, since I already do so many Christmas cards, and helps keep me motivated. Thanks Julie.

A dear sweet friend, we've only known each other a short time, but wow what an impact she's had on my life already. She's sweet, caring and is always a great inspiration to me. We met at a Stampin Up party that I was the demonstrator for, and she has fast become a wonderful friend. She gave me the idea of the Christmas blog and is always quick to give great advice and helpful ideas when asked.

I've only met Margaret through the blogging world, she's a wonderful lady who inspires everyone with her creative cards and scrapbook layouts, as well as other things. I thank her for inspiring me, and I hope that I may inspire her at times as well.

Another wonderful person I've met and now am a design team member with on Come and Get It as well as Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge, She's always got some fresh and fun ideas for the challenges, and is always there to help when needed. Thanks for all you do and for being a great inspiration and friend.

A new friend that I've met through blogging just recently and is a Guest Designer at Come and Get It until the end of March. I have been thrilled to have her join us for the last few months. I'm inspired by her creations and I will continue to follow her blog to see all the wonderful things she makes after her stay with us, and hope to keep in touch with her through the blogging world.

White and Bashful Blue

For Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge this week it is my turn to host it and I'm wanting to see you use White or Vanilla and one other color on your creations this week. I've decided to use Bashful blue. I think it makes for a perfect icy combination. I have used the Snow Flurry Die from Stampin up to make the snowflakes adding the large gems into the center of them. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set, and the background was embossed using the brocade embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I sponged the edges of the white pieces with the bashful blue. The snowflakes were spritzed using bashful blue, rubbing alcohol and frost white shimmer paint, so sparkly, hard to see in the pic, but you can see a little bit in the bottom right snowflake if you look at it close up. Anyway thanks for looking

From the Recyling Bin

Hi Everyone, Judy has the challenge this week at Come and Get It, and it is to use something on your card from the recyling bin, well I took some newspaper and made the flower on my card, I punched out 5 large scalloped circles, and 4 small ones, and then spritzed them with a combination of alcohol, and re inker, and frost white paint, so it is very sparkly, then sponged on some darker blue around the edges. The brad in the center is one of the antique brads from Stampin Up. The white layer is embossed with the fancy fan folder, then added some retired satin ribbon, and then added the banner, made using the banner framelits and the  itty bitty banner stamp set.

Christmas Door

Paige is hosting this week at Holly Jolly and the  challenge  is Christmas Greenery, we are sponsored by the lovely Terry-Lynn over at  Fred She Said. If you haven't been there  you should go, she has digital stamps pre-colored, or ones you can color yourself, but she also has cut files, and pin pricking files. Great stuff, anyway I have used her pre-colored wreath on my project, along with the stripes embossing folder, the square lattice folder on the bots that has the trees in it, which by the way are the tops of the trees from the Christmas Lodge set all by Stampin Up. The doors are dies that I got from poppy stamps. great dies and fun to play with. Anyway that's my card for this week. As always thanks for looking and leaving comments.
