Ribbon or Lace

Hi Everyone, Here's my card for the first one of the year for the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge. We are Sponsored by Bugaboo, and I've used one of the A Kid's View stamps from them called Star Ornament. I thought he was adorable, and when I chose him of course I wasn't thinking about the challenge, but thought ok I can do this, so this is the result of using ribbon or lace on my card. I colored him with Promarkers and have added a few star brads to the card. and left the rest pretty simple.
Thanks for looking.

Meighan's Sketch Challenge

Meighan Sketch 08/06/2013

Hi Everyone, well this time around at Holly Jolly Meighan has given us a sketch to work with. It's a fairly simple sketch and I love the way it came out. I have used Serene Snowflakes (retired) from Stampin Up, but a favorite set of mine still. which I have stamped using Real Red, Early Espresso, and Primrose Petals. a different combination for sure. The paper for the flags is from the retired Christmas paper from last year called Candlelight Christmas. the ribbon is also retired Satin in Early Espresso, the sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set, and the rhinestones from my stash. Thanks for looking.

From the Recyling Bin

Hi Everyone, Judy has the challenge this week at Come and Get It, and it is to use something on your card from the recyling bin, well I took some newspaper and made the flower on my card, I punched out 5 large scalloped circles, and 4 small ones, and then spritzed them with a combination of alcohol, and re inker, and frost white paint, so it is very sparkly, then sponged on some darker blue around the edges. The brad in the center is one of the antique brads from Stampin Up. The white layer is embossed with the fancy fan folder, then added some retired satin ribbon, and then added the banner, made using the banner framelits and the  itty bitty banner stamp set.

I Love You This Much

Meighan 01-20-13IMG_0201
I love you this much is the name of the digital stamp and sentiment I'm using for Meighan's Sketch. We are Sponsored by Fred She Said this week at Come and Get It, and this is one of her images. I just thought this little girl was so cute. Anyway I'm still working on using things in my stash this year, and on this card we have a couple of things that have been around for a long time. One is the heart charm and the other is the vellum which is the very light purple with the swirls I've used on the background.
Anyway the car was made using Wisteria wonder and Elegant Eggplant card stock, the wisteria wonder piece was embossed with an edgelits folder, I just did a bit bigger piece by embossing twice then cutting it to the size I wanted, so the hearts stood the right way up. The ribbon is the 3/8 Whisper White Taffeta . Anyway it was a fun card to put together. Thanks for looking

Using new stamps at Fairy Tale Challenges

IMG_0205

Hi Everyone, well it's time again for another challenge at the Fairy Tale Challenge Blog. This week we have been asked to use our newest stamp in our collection. Well I have several to choose from since I had just received an order from Stampin Up. I decided on the Daydream Medallions set, it is a set designed to go with the floral framelit dies. I like that you can now get stamps to go with the dies, makes it so easy for cutting out. I used three different medallions from the set to make the main panel on the card. The colors I've used are Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Basic Grey. The Designer paper is from the Comfort Cafe paper pack,  I also used a new embossing folder which can be gotten for free if you spend $60.00 or more of Stampin Up Goodies during Sale-A-Bration, which begins on the 22nd of Jan. A Sketch for this week at Holly Jolly

IMG_0193 (631x800)
This is my card for Holly Jolly this week. We are sponsored by Fred She Said this week, but I chose to use my own Idea for the card this time. For Christmas from one of the residents where I work, they gave me a box of goodies as they know I do card making and such. They bought me a few stamps a bunch of paper flowers, and also some stickers. This tree is one of the stickers from the recollections set that she bought. Its very pretty and just fit the sketch perfectly. I've paired it with real red and used some of the champagne glimmer paper. Also I used the sentiment from the Petite Pairs set.

Tie a Ribbon Challenge

This week is Shell's turn to host the challenge, and she's asked us to tie a ribbon around it, It's a simple challenge which I think will be interpreted in a number of ways. I have used the Pleasant Poppies stamp from Stampin Up and colored with my markers. The background is the vintage wallpaper folder, and it was inked with my regal rose ink and then embossed, so that it is on the background and the embossing comes through in the vanilla, a very cool way of doing it.

Bingo Challenge for Come and Get It

It's a bingo challenge at Come and Get It and sponsored too. So go check it out and see what everyone is making. I've used Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, and Basic Grey on my card, The sizzlets flowers and swirls are my die cuts, I made the flowers and added gems to the center. I could have used the Die Cuts and Glitter too as I put some glitter on her boa, Or I could have used the ribbon, free, and Punched Shapes too, as I have punched cirlces for the greeting, and ribbon, and the flowers. So as you can see very simple card to put together. Anyway go check it out and have a great week
